Dear Friends
This email is being sent only to the countries which participated in the Premiers League and League A.
This email tournament has come to an end this week, with a very disappointing outcome. Once again, quite a few countries did not take part.
- The winner of the Premier League was Australia which entered a very strong team in every round.
- In second place was Samoa, with some phenomenal performances from some of their lifters over the rounds.
- In third place New Zealand, with very steady results throughout the year, losing only to Australia and Samoa.
- In fourth place was the Fiji team, which were the surprise team in this years tournament from coming from last position last year to fourth place this year.
- The Solomon Islands, in fifth place, produced some excellent performances throughout the year and were consistent in fielding a team in every round.
- PNG unfortunately missed out in one round by not entering a team and that cost them some points, relegating them to sixth position.
- A very disappointing was team Nauru, which did not field a team in five of the seven rounds, and Kiribati which did not field a team in four of the seven rounds.
The winner of League A was Guam.
- Guam produced strong results in every single round and were undefeated.
- Pacific One, came second. A team made up of basically lifters from Palau.
- New Caledonia came third with a consistently strong team who entered every single round.
- In fourth place was Tonga, which also produced good results round after round.
- In fifth place was Vanuatu, improving from last years results.
- Unfortunately CNMI, Tahiti and the Cook Islands in this last round did not enter a team which cost them points and higher placings.
All in all, this tournament has been a very successful tournament. It gave lifters an opportunity to compete on a regular basis.
Wishing everyone all the very best.
Kindest regards,
Paul Coffa MBE
